Xavier School of Commerce (XSC), a budding institution under Xavier University, Bhubaneswar (XUB) was set in the year 2014. The school commits to provide quality commerce education in order to strengthen the educational infrastructure in the country. India today needs highly skilled and talented commerce graduates who can contribute to the growth of the economy. The economic growth of a region or a country is enabled by economists and accountants possessing advanced knowledge as well as the skills to evaluate and analyze the complexities of businesses and other financial institutions. A career in commerce demands both, knowledge of the business world as well as technical understanding and capabilities.

With this objective in mind the school offers the two bachelor’s degree programs Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) & Bachelor of Business Management (B.B.M). To cater the needs of industry oriented professionals, XSC has launched the Master of Business Finance. It will provide a robust platform for students who seek proficiency in the finance domain. The program aims at helping students sharpen their conceptual as well as analytical skills in the areas of financial decision-making.

The Accounting and Finance Conference (NCAF) - 2018 aims to provide a platform for academics and practitioners to debate the role of accounting and finance in the ever changing business arena. India, being the fastest growing economy in the world is poised to remain the epicenter of all trade and commerce. Despite all odds the Indian economy is expected to grow at around 6.5-7%. Global events like the new administration in U.S.A, exit of U.K from the European Union, tensions in middle-east and the domestic developments in the form of demonetization, GST, policies providing a fillip to new start-ups and MSMEs, infrastructural development and opening up of banking sector could have ripple effects across geographies in terms of trade wars.

Hence the specific objective of the conference is to get knowledge and insights on the new dynamics of transition as global and local spaces through theoretical and empirical studies. This conference will provide a holistic approach by having both conceptual as well as applied areas of understanding.
